Minimum Technology Standards (Client Obligations)
As a condition of receiving services from MoreMax, the Client agrees to maintain and operate its technology environment in accordance with the minimum standards set out below (“Minimum Technology Standards”). These standards are necessary to ensure system security, performance, and compliance with industry and professional obligations.
1. Endpoint Hardware Requirements
Windows-Based Devices
All Windows workstations must meet or exceed the following specifications:
- Windows 11 Pro (or higher business-class edition)
- 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor or higher (or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 equivalent or higher)
- Minimum 16GB RAM
- Solid State Drive (SSD)
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0
Apple Devices (Mac/MacBook)
All macOS devices must meet or exceed the following:
- macOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer
- Intel Core i5 (7th generation or newer) or Apple M1 processor (or higher)
- Minimum 8GB RAM
- Solid State Drive (SSD)
2. Operating System Requirements
The Client acknowledges and agrees that Windows Home editions are not supported under this Agreement.
Use of non-supported operating systems may result in:
- Reduced functionality and lack of necessary business features
- Increased exposure to security vulnerabilities
- Incompatibility with required business and legal software
- Inability to centrally manage and enforce security policies
- Potential failure to meet applicable compliance or cyber insurance requirements
For these reasons, the Client agrees to maintain Windows Pro or Enterprise editions (or macOS equivalent as outlined above) across all applicable devices.
3. Approved and Recommended Technology Stack
To ensure consistency, security, and supportability, the Client agrees to align with the following core platform standards (or approved equivalents as determined by MoreMax):
Productivity & Identity
- Microsoft 365 (Business Premium or equivalent “Modern Workspace” solution)
- Microsoft Azure / Entra ID for identity and access management
Infrastructure & Data Management
- Microsoft SharePoint Online (preferred) for document management
- Windows Server environments (where applicable)
- Virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware (where applicable)
Communications
- Microsoft Teams and/or 3CX VoIP systems for unified communications
4. Ongoing Compliance with Standards
- These Minimum Technology Standards may be updated periodically to reflect evolving security, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- The Client agrees to reasonably cooperate in maintaining compliance with such updates.
- Where the Client’s environment does not meet the Minimum Technology Standards, MoreMax may:
- Recommend remediation steps, and/or
- Limit or adjust support services, and/or
- Apply additional charges where non-compliant systems require support
5. Acknowledgement
By engaging MoreMax’s services, the Client acknowledges that adherence to these standards is essential to:
- Protect confidential and client data
- Maintain operational stability
- Meet ethical and regulatory obligations applicable to legal practice
- Ensure eligibility for cybersecurity and professional liability requirements
